the purpose of some music videos is to promote the song or the artist or even the message behind the song as well. Music videos are a good way of promoting the artist because they give a visual representation of the artist/group. by having this, it will make viewers/audiences know who the artist/group is and they would be attracted to both the song and the artist themselves. Music videos are also a good way to promote a certain product for example in (dr dre - kush) he promotes his own headphones and his own range of laptops. this can also be a easy way of promoting the artist, group and the product as well.
also with music videos it can help to show their type of clothes and what they are wear =ing. it can be used to raise awareness on a type of issue thats going on like the earth quake in haiti. it can influence a person on a person by making them listen to the music video

evaluation of music video
In our group we had produced a music video - nick jonas give love a try
i will be evaluating all my group work including pre production, post production and overall group work. our group had chosen this style of music because of its rhythm and style. in our pre production we had expressed all the elements that were needed in the music video like the shots used, location, crew list and treatment. also in our group work we had also listed down all the other key elements in the production like the story board and the written spoken soundtrack.
our group work was not the best form of group work but we had most of the work done, the reason for this is because sometimes our group members would be absent and we would not be able to get the important part of the work finished, also some of our group had not been the most cooperative in some of the music video production.

research methods
there are many types of research such as
- primary research — original finding
- Secondary research - summary, collation or a synthesis of someones existing work research
- qualitative research - the research that goes in to detail, the research is often used as a method of exploratory research as a basis for later qualitative research hypotheses.
- quantitative research - research that depends on the amount of research in the detail on the document.
There are many other different methods of researching like manual research / primary research. Primary research is viewed as more time consuming and exhausting to do. The other method of research is internet based, when the finder surfs the internet to look for existing documents, this is known as secondary research.

analysing music videos
music video - rihanna we found love
the music entirely shot with spontaneous shots, the first key shot of the video is a fierce stare down of rihanna and the actor in the bathtub.
the music entirely shot with spontaneous shots, the first key shot of the video is a fierce stare down of rihanna and the actor in the bathtub.
The next shot shows more effect on the audience because it shows Rihanna on her own in a field, this shows that she is alone and that there is nobody there for her. the shot is a wide one shot because it is only her in the short clip.
The next shot is a shot of lighting being struck, this shows can show a sense of stress, struggle and hardship.
The next shot is the scene where Rihanna is in her flat where the scenery (clouds) is projected on to the wall behind her. This shows the audience what kind of state she is in (high).
The next shot is a scene where Rihanna and the actor are together behind a big fire, this shows that even when they are in great distress they still fall in love together.the shot is a mid close up two shot.
the next shot is a shot of pills/drugs dropping, this shows the element of addiction and craze. the shot is a close up shot.
the next shot is a mid close up of Rihanna raving on the actors back, this shows a sense of happiness.
the next shot is a long shot of a building collapsing, this is when all the happiness breaks down and this also shows that she is sad.
the last shot is a mid shot of Rihanna and the actor in bathtub repeating the beginning of the video, this might show the audience how it all started

Green Screen - how its filmed
Green Screen Background is a special effect that makes a subject appear in different locations by imposing images. Gone are the days when photographers would go hunting for locations. Now all they have to do is hook up a green screen photography set up and click away.
Perhaps the most common use of this is weather forecast broadcast for TV news stations. The person telling the weather stands in front of green screen backdrops, pointing to maps and radar. (Photo Credit) Backgrounds change as information moves forward from city, state, national weather forecast to radar etc. While blue screen backgrounds are more commonly used, for digital photography, green screens have become popular due to the amount of lightning required to project quality image.
Photographers all over the world use green screens to create images that grab attention. The process of using green screens has made the experience cost effective and extremely efficient. The coordination however could get a little tricky as one has to have a clear picture in mind about what one wants.
Green screen drops come in all sizes and shapes. The least expensive backdrop will be a sheet from fabric store.
photographers can use backdrops of any colour like green, blue, purple,
an example of this is a music video of B.O.B ft Bruno Mars - nothin on you
the whole video is shot in a white room and the colour is cancelled out to be like a torn out photos put together. Because the artist probably could not have gone to all the locations like london, tokyo and new orleans so this cuts time and money at the same time. Also as a result in using the backdrop in a music video this will give more of an effect on the audience.
when actually filming with the back drop (green screen), the back drop has to be a specific colour, and when using it the person in the shot should not wear clothing is not the same colour as the backdrop. otherwise the person would have parts that would be missing. Also the back drop has to be properly lit ( four point lighting). The character in the shot has to be
